Can deadpool actually die?

Yes, Deadpool was the first casualty of Secret Wars. Back in April of 2015, Marvel announced that they were killing Deadpool off in Deadpool #250. They followed through by smashing him between two planets.

He’s really not that hard to kill as Dallas tries to put it. For example, Ghost Rider could easily end him if he wanted, which Blaze points out in that scenario where some thought the Penance Stare didn’t work on Deadpool when it really did.

He obviously got better, because he has since been part of a number of series later in 2015, including Deadpool & Cable, and the Gwenpool Holiday Special, and started off 2016 with Spiderman/Deadpool. So while he can die, it’s a different question on whether he would stay dead.
